According to new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a clemency request for review by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a source provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” remain unclear, Raskin added.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, per the insider, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the supervisor has individually organized private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

These meetings allegedly include a designated private space for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and potential for unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was provided directions about instructing her associates to call and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she reportedly employed the warden as her private aide.

The news release states that those writing to her would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks reportedly provided to her include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the spokesperson added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that she told friends and family in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her previous prison.

This past summer, Maxwell was moved from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also once acted as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to the President.

Raskin asked whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or agents have made any commitments to the President or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a reply to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court declined to hear an petition from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
